  • VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF INDUSTRY!!!

    Most of the services provided by this Department are being operated through the online system. In addition, work is being carried out to bring into operation, through the online system, as soon as possible, those services which have not yet been included in the online system. It is hereby informed that, among the services currently operated by the Department through the online system, service recipients are not required to be physically present in person. However, in the case of services for which physical presence is still required, when appearing at the Department, the operator of the concerned establishment (firm, company, industry, business) himself/herself, or an employee of the establishment, or an authorized representative designated by the establishment, is again requested to appear with an official identification card establishing his/her identity and obtain the service.

    Furthermore, this notice has been published for the information of all concerned that, from 2083/04/18, the applications for the following services provided by this Department and the documents required to be attached there shall be available only online through the Industrial Management Information System (IMIS), and thereafter, physical applications and documents for those services shall not be registered.

    It is also informed that, in the case of industries having fixed capital of less than NPR 25 crore falling within the working jurisdiction of the Provincial Government, recommendations relating to the import of machinery, tools, raw materials, chemicals required for the industry, as well as bonded warehouse and determination of norms for consumption of raw materials, and other exemptions, facilities and concessions, shall be provided by the concerned Provincial Government and the bodies under it.

    As follows:

    1. Services relating to industry registration and post-registration:

    • Work relating to approval for registration of a new industry, (in the case of an industry having only domestic investment: the fixed capital must be more than NPR 25 crore)
    • Work relating to registration of an industrial unit,
    • Work relating to transfer of industry,
    • Work relating to increase in the capital and capacity of an industry.
    • Work relating to updating an industry,
    • Work relating to extension of the period of an industry and renewal of the firm,
    • Work relating to information regarding operation of an industry,
    • Work relating to amendment of the share structure of an industry, cancellation, amendment of shareholders, updating of statistics, change of the name of the industry, and change of objectives, etc.

    2. Services relating to foreign investment

    • Work relating to approval of foreign investment (including Automatic Route),
    • Work relating to recommendation for a business visa,
    • Repatriation, Technology Transfer Agreement, Share Purchase, etc.

    3. Service relating to determination of norms for consumption of raw materials,

    4. Work relating to submission of annual progress details,

    5. Service relating to recommendations for exemptions, facilities and concessions,

    6. Work relating to Corporate Social Responsibility,

    7. Service relating to approval of IEE/TOR/Revised IEE.
